FY 2017 Nanotech Career-up Alliance

■ Purpose and intended persons:

The Micro/Nano fabrication technologies (photolithography, thin film deposition, etching and bonding) from microscale to nanoscale are indispensable to the research of MEMS/NEMS, electronic devices and microfluidic devices which make full use of nanotechnologies.

This course is intended for the beginners of Micro/Nano fabrication technologies to understand the basic principles of the technologies. It also aims to acquire the Micro/Nano fabrication skills comprehensively through the practices of design and fabrication of simple devices using the equipments at Nanotechnology Hub.


■ Number of participants: 3 persons each for the 1st term and the 2nd term (maximum)

■ Time and period:

1st term: From April 3 (Mon) 2017 to September 29 (Fri) 2017

2nd term: From October 2 (Mon) 2017 to March 30 (Fri) 2018

■ Venue:

Kyoto University Nanotechnology Hub Base

■ Contents:

The participants, the supervisors of the participants, the persons in charge of technical assistance, and the CUPAL operation committee members will have a meeting to determine the specific curriculum according to the specialty and the needs of each participant (custom-made curriculum).

The custom-made curriculum will be made by combining the practice of the operation of the Micro/Nano fabrication equipments at Nanotechnology Hub, the device design and fabrication training etc. according to the needs of each participant.

The style of the course has various options such as the periodical courses (every week, every 2 weeks, or every month), the intensive courses (for one week, two weeks, etc.), or the combination of the above.

Free of charge for the doctoral students and young researchers belonging to CUPAL Alliance institutions

Others: 1,000,000 yen (* Not including consumption tax)
